How To Change Windows XP Start Button Text

Lets start the process


    explorer.exe
  • log on your windows and start the internet.

  • download this software which give help you editing the explorer.exe

Download here

  • After installing this run it as a administrator.

  • A window will open then click on file chose open again a small window will open

  • Then find explorer. exe in c:/windows and  open it. as shown below.

  • Then click on string table.
              then click on folder 37.


  • then folder 1033.

  • then in side column there is start  text appear then change it to as you desire.

  • then click compile script button.

  • After then click on file and save as file.exe or any other name as you want but remember extension is .exe for example(example.exe).

  • now open run dialog box. then type "regedit" without quotes hit enter.

  • After that a new screen will open this is call register editor.

  • then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->SOFTWARE----->MICROSOFT-->WINDOWS NT-->CURRENT VERSION-->WINLOGON

  • In the right pane as shown in figure, double click the Shell entry to open the Edit String dialog box as shown in below figure Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer exe.file. Click OK.

  • Close Registry Editor and either log off the system and log back in, or reboot the entire system if that’s your preference. If all went as planned you should see your new Start button with the revised text.
