Block Images In Google Chrome

Images make the web really beautiful and the web is nothing without images. But sometimes we may want to block images while browsing due to some reasons such as Shifting to a limited data Internet Plan or slow Internet connectivity. This tutorial is a step by step guide to block images in Google Chrome, the fastest browser on the web. This will also speed up browsing.




Block Images In Google Chrome

The tutorial consists of three parts. The first part talks about blocking images on some specific sites. The second part talks about blocking images on all sites. And the third and the last part talks about blocking images on All sites except a few.
1. Block Images on specific sites

Follow the steps below to block images in Google Chrome for some specific sites : -
Open Google Chrome and type in the Address Bar : chrome://settings/ and press enter.
Now you will get the settings menu. Scroll Down to the bottom and click on Show Advanced Settings. Now you will see more options.
Under Privacy click on “Content Settings“. Now under Images click on Manage Exceptions.

Now under Hostname pattern add the URL of the site on which you want to block images and choose Block from the drop down menu under Behavior in front of it.
Now click on done and re-launch Google Chrome.


2. Block Images on all Sites

Follow the steps below to block images in Google Chrome on all sites : -
Open Google Chrome and type in the Address Bar : chrome://settings/ and press enter.
Now you will get the settings menu. Scroll Down to the bottom and click on Show Advanced Settings. Now you will see more options.
Under Privacy click on “Content Settings“. Now under Images select Do not show any images.
Click on done and re-launch Google Chrome.


3. Blocking images on All sites except a few

Follow the steps below to block images in Google Chrome on All sites except a few i.e the images will appear on some sites which you want and on the rest pf the sites the images won’t appear : -
Open Google Chrome and type in the Address Bar : chrome://settings/ and press enter.
Now you will get the settings menu. Scroll Down to the bottom and click on Show Advanced Settings. Now you will see more options.
Under Privacy click on “Content Settings“. Now under Images select Do not show any images.
Now click on Manage Exceptions.
Now under Hostname pattern add the URL of the site on which you don’t want to block images and choose Allow from the drop down menu under Behavior in front of it so that the sites you have added will show images and rest of the sites would not show any images.
Now click on done and re-launch Google Chrome.
